Your time matters and it’s important to be compensated appropriately, especially when putting in extra hours at work. California’s Labor Code sets guidelines of when and how much overtime compensation an employee is subject to for non-except employees.
A non-exempt employee is entitled to overtime compensation at one and a half (1.5x) times their regular rate of pay when they have worked over 8 hours per workday and/or over 40 hours per work week. Additionally, an employee is entitled to double time (2x) for any hours worked over 12 hours in day and for any hours worked over eight on the seventh consecutive day of work in a week.
If you believe your employer owes you overtime compensation, you may be entitled to payment. Our firm is committed to helping you evaluate your options and obtaining the highest recovery.
